I am going to show you a Tek that I came up with after haveing issues with the vac on LC without prop venting. Whatman filters are used in LC lids(little price IMO). so I wanted it cheaper DIY and still preform. Here we go
Things you will need
Plastic lids and jars to fit ( I also use metal lids too)
1/4 drill bit and drill (Drill bit size should be a little smaller so the needle large end will fit snug in the hole)
1 needle
Poly fill
Blue RVT sealant and a piece of paper
Tooth pick
start by Drilling 2 , 1/4 in holes on opposite sides of the lid.
you can make one of the hole larger for the SHIP (just like I do)

I place my lid on a jar for later, you will need the space for the needle.
Now get some poly fill (tinny amount will work)and roll it up and stick it in the Needles end.

Put a spot of RVT on the paper, Use the toothpick to apply the RVT on the needle where it's needed,

Put a small bead around the needle end, like this.

Holding by the poly fill, place the Needle in one of the 1/4 inch holes in lid. when it is down press it firm on the lid to seal. Also with the toothpick place a small bead on the under side too.

Now make your ship out of RVT on the other hole, both sides
Here are the metal LIds I made also the work great too. The needle I am using is for IVs, I got it from a medical friend.

I use them for a Lid on your favorite LC.
The needle filter allows for pressure exchange when drawing up your LC,
This is a picture of the finished lid on a jar with LC. it also works with QT jars
